Ghostwriter writes for you without you typing or speaking a word. Put your cursor in any text box — an email, a Slack message, a form, a document — press a hotkey, and MyHandler reads what's on your screen, figures out what belongs at your cursor, and types a draft there in your own writing style. You review it and hit send yourself; Ghostwriter never sends anything on its own.
How to use it
Click into a text field, then double-tap Left Ctrl (the default — change it any time in Settings → Keybindings). No need to hold it down or say anything. A moment later, your draft appears at the cursor.
What it can do
Ghostwriter reads the situation and picks the right kind of help automatically:
- Reply — You're looking at an email thread, Slack message, or DM. Ghostwriter writes your response, addressed to the right person, picking up the actual conversation — not a generic reply.
- Continue — You started writing a sentence, paragraph, or list and trailed off. Ghostwriter finishes it in the same voice, picking up exactly where you stopped.
- Fill — You're looking at a blank field with a question or label next to it (a form, a survey). Ghostwriter writes a real, specific answer instead of a placeholder.
- Compose — A blank field with no explicit prompt, but the context makes it obvious what message is needed (a new email to someone you clearly need to follow up with). Ghostwriter writes it.
Examples
- You're reading a client's email asking if Thursday at 2pm works. Cursor in the reply box, double-tap — Ghostwriter checks your calendar (connected under Settings → Channels), and if you're free, confirms it in your own words; if you're busy, it declines that slot and proposes a time you're actually free, without revealing what the conflicting event is. Haven't connected a calendar? It'll still draft a reply, just without committing to a specific time.
- You're three sentences into a Slack update and got pulled away. Come back, double-tap — it finishes your thought in the same tone.
- A signup form asks "What's your biggest challenge right now?" — double-tap and it writes a genuine answer instead of you staring at a blank box.
Good to know
- It won't guess at things it doesn't know. Ghostwriter only writes what it can back up — your own earlier words in the thread, how you typically write, or facts already in your MyHandler data. If someone asks "do you know Priya?" and there's nothing to go on, it leaves that alone rather than inventing an answer — a wrong guess in your own name is worse than a short reply.
- It matches the relationship, not just the app. A reply to a close friend reads casual and warm; a reply to a client reads more measured — Ghostwriter picks up on how you and the other person actually talk to each other.
- Connect your calendar for scheduling replies to work well. Ghostwriter checks your calendar before confirming or proposing a meeting time — but only if you've connected one under Settings → Channels. Without a connected calendar, it has no visibility into your availability, so it'll keep any scheduling language vague rather than risk double-booking you. The same goes for other context it uses: the more you've connected (email, calendar, chat), the more it has to draft from.
- Needs Cloud AI turned on (Settings → AI). This is the one feature that doesn't fall back to your local model — it deliberately holds out for the strongest reasoning rather than risk a confidently wrong draft, so if Cloud AI is off, it tells you plainly instead of drafting anyway.
- Respects your Privacy exclusions. If the app or website is on your excluded list, Ghostwriter won't read it — same as everywhere else in MyHandler.
- If there's genuinely nothing usable on screen (an empty app with no context at all), it says so rather than making something up.

- Get past blank-page paralysis on a report or doc by starting with the paragraph you were already forming in your head.
- Answer repetitive form questions (support tickets, intake forms) without retyping the same context every time.
