MyHandler.ai vs Microsoft Recall

Microsoft Recall saves a screenshot of your screen every few seconds on Copilot+ PCs, OCRs it on-device, and lets you search your past on a timeline. It stores data locally — but requires special hardware and is still labeled a preview after a twice-pulled launch.

Recall proved Windows users want a searchable memory of their screen — and its backlash proved nobody wants screenshots of everything they do without being asked. MyHandler captures the text by default and leaves screenshots as an opt-in, encrypted on your own machine. It runs on any Windows 10 or 11 PC and remembers more than your screen: meetings, files, email, calendar, and channels — a memory you can actually talk to.

Why MyHandler

Key advantages

🖥️
Any PC
No Copilot+ hardware required

Recall needs a Copilot+ PC with a 40 TOPS NPU — hardware most Windows users don't have. MyHandler runs on ordinary Windows 10 and 11 machines, today.

📄
Text first, no image archive
No stored screenshots unless you turn them on

Recall keeps a rolling archive of screen images and OCRs them, by default. MyHandler reads the text — primarily through Windows accessibility APIs, and through a momentary on-device snapshot it discards where a window won't expose its text — and keeps no image archive; saving screenshots is an opt-in you control, encrypted on your own disk if you enable it. Password fields are skipped at capture time, and excluded apps and private browsing are respected either way.

🧠
A memory you can talk to
Ask, don't scroll

Recall gives you search and a timeline. MyHandler lets you ask questions across everything — screen, meetings, documents, email, calendar — and briefs you proactively before meetings and every morning.

🌍
Beyond the screen
Meetings, files, and channels included

Recall records no audio and indexes nothing it didn't see on screen. MyHandler transcribes meetings on-device, indexes your document folders, and connects your email, calendars, and chat channels into one private memory.
